General Information

Pre-orientation

Orientation day will be held during last week of December, on this day parents are welcome to take a tour of the campus during the orientation and get to know their child’s class teacher better.

First Day of School

The first day of school falls on first Monday of the year.

What to expect in the first few weeks?

The first term at school is an important time for each child. For most, it will be their first experience away from home and their immediate family. It is a time when they

  • Venture into a new environment.
  • Meet and learn to trust.
  • Have to mix and share with other children.
  • Work in a group situation.

Our primary aim is to make sure that Havona Preschool is welcoming, safe and happy because your child’s positive self-confidence is important to their development.

Separation Anxiety

All children must learn to cope with temporary separations from their parents. Learning to be apart can be difficult for parents and children. However, both benefit from spending time apart and with other people.  Some of the children attending sessions will be distressed when their parents leave. This is called “separation anxiety” and is often displayed by three years old and four years old.  Separation anxiety occurs because the child does not yet feel safe to be away from people they know and trust. Therefore, it is important to quickly build that trust.

Trust can be built by showing the child that you, the parent, trust the teacher and are comfortable in leaving them at school. Spend some time chatting with the teacher while the child plays nearby. When the child sees you trust the teacher, they will begin to trust the teacher, too.

Settling Period for the first week

During the first week of school, the teachers may recommend that your child attend a shorter session if she finds that the child is not settling into the program.

School Uniforms & PE Sportswear

We require all our children to wear the Havona Preschool school uniform so that they feel a sense of belonging to the school during school day.  For school day that has taekwondo session, student is required to wear Havona Preschool PE Sportswear.

Our uniform has been designed to be practical, attractive, comfortable and washable.

It comprises: • A blouse with a ribbon bowtie and a skirt for girls • A shirt and pair of shorts for boys • Shorts and a T-shirt for Physical Education •A Sun Hat •Non-slip socks

**Children are required to wear non-slip socks (socks with rubber soles) at all times, and is encouraged to wear facial mask.

Child Health & Safety

A child who is sick or unwell should stay home and/or see a doctor for diagnosis and treatment. If a child becomes ill during the school day, campus admin will contact parents to make appropriate arrangements for the child’s care and/or pick up.

Application Process

The application process is as follows:
