Friedrich Froebel Philosophy
Established in August 2019, we aim to serve more than just an ordinary preschool. With our strong beliefs in learning through play and the holistic development of our children, we abolish the traditional teacher-centered methods of teaching. We adopt Friedrich Froebel philosophy where our programmes focus on innovative learning opportunities that inspire our children to grow their personal strengths and talents without neglecting their academics – we nurture and get them ready to adapt to the outside world!
The Importance of School Facilities in Improving Student Achievements
We are one of the largest and leading specially designed modern green, city-based preschool in Malaysia with more than 1,000 indoor and outdoor plants in the campus. Our green campus also has a large built up size of 35,000 sqft for our students to get the opportunity to Grow. Explore. Discover outside their classrooms. With our facilities of a mini theatre, ballet room, gourmet area, rooftop playground, and a library, we are able significantly increase our students interest in their preschool education. This helps our teachers to improve engagement from students, raise achievement and improve classroom behaviours.

Our Founder
A message from Mr Yeo Ann Seck, Founder of Havona Preschool and Lian Ak Group
As a father myself, I’ve always strived to find the best education for my children. I truly believe that Early Childhood Education provides the fundamentals and building blocks to shaping our little ones into successful and wholesome young adults of the future.
When I chanced upon the opportunity to start preschool in the heart of Taman Mount Austin, I was so excited and grateful. Not only is this a safe and family-orientated environment, but it gave me a chance to build an education centre that truly encompasses what I had always wanted for my children…. A world class facility with professional educators and an outstanding environment to nurture social-emotional development of these precious young minds.
I am beyond honoured to have the support of both Dr Andrew Tan and Dato’ Sri Dr Bee Loh on our Board of Advisory. Given their shared passion and dedication towards early childhood education, I have no doubt that with their generous foresight and guidance, Havona Preschool will be a leader in Green Concept Preschools in Malaysia. It is my hope that our school will be able to inspire others to embrace our innovative educational concepts and help lead our children to be adaptive, life-long learners and who will one day be our future leaders!

Member of Board of Advisory
Dr. Andrew Tan Chin Nam is our Member of Board of Advisory; he holds a PHD from the Nanjing University and a Bachelors of Arts (Hons) from the National University of Singapore. Also, he earned a Diploma in Education from the University of Birmingham (Institute of Education). With his strong qualifications and experiences, Dr. Andrew will serve his role by providing comprehensive guidance towards building a preschool that covers all aspects of early childhood educations!

Dato’ Sri, Dr. Bee Loh earned a degree in business management from RMIT University, Melbourne, and earned both a master’s degree and a doctorate in business administration at the University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. He also has a postgraduate certificate in law from the University of London.

Head of School
Elilia is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) who graduated from Curtin University, Australia with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting. She assumes the roles of Head of School, Finance Director and General Manager of Havona Preschool. As a businesswoman and a working mother in the society, she has great visions and strong beliefs for the early childhood education. Her passion for the industry was built since young by her very own grandparents who were also educators.
Elilia is a sport enthusiast and she develop her own set of self-discipline in the workplace. She has administered and provided direction for the In-House Enrichment Programmes with the ultimate goal of making Havona Preschool a preschool beyond academic!
Ms. Elilia Seow
Head of Mandarin
Teacher Peggy has 18 years of teaching experience in the early childhood education, since 2002 she has joined the Global Training Academy (GTA) that provides prominent teaching courses in early childhood teaching. She strongly believes that a development or training program enables her to gain more expertise in her field and develop new ideas on ways to being a great educator in Chinese language!
Over the years, her passion and professionalism for teaching Chinese evolved through various training workshops and development programs such as 前锋教育，马来西亚华校教师会总会，EQ教育培训中心有限公司 and many more. Teacher Peggy is a one of the facilitators for the Malacca – Johor Diocese Counselling Ministry and completed 2 years of their Psychology Training Programme. She is also an activist in Chinese Traditional, Cultural Inheritance and participates in Harmony and Confucian Music Society.

HR Manager
Norhafira (Ms Fira) is the HR personnel for Havona Preschool. She holds a Degree in Bachelor of Science Human Resource Development from the University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Currently, she is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management in UTM. With 5 years of working experience in the HR industry, she is trained in recruiting and retaining the right fits for Havona Preschool. Ms Fira is also in charged of the training and development of the teachers & staffs and continues to strive hard to implement HR related strategies/ campaigns/ policies to ensure good workplace relationships and a vibrant learning/ environment.
Ms Fira is a creative individual who has an eye for design and decorations, she has always been the person who decorate the interior design of Havona Preschool on a monthly basis and regularly to ensure it is aligned to our learning theme of the month!
Ms. Norhafira Din
Campus Coordinator
Jeslyn is a young, bubbly and energetic girl that holds the role of the Campus Coordinator, she is often being seen as the “go to person” for different requests and occasions and they can vary from administrative works, photos capturing, maintaining mobile applications, uploading data, attending to the parents to even producing creative short videos for our Social Media Page!
With more than 1 year of working in Havona Preschool, Jeslyn has developed her own organizing and collaborating skillsets to meeting deadlines and working well alongside the other team members. She is definitely an important asset to Havona Preschool!

As an education institution, we are committed to invest in our educators. Regular training opportunities such as classroom management courses, first aid training are provided to continually expand their knowledge and teaching skills – we want our educators to implement the best teaching practices and maintain a safe learning environment for our children!

Why we are the best
Academic Overview
Preschool Years
● At Havona, we accept children aged from 3 to 6 years old and we provide a broad range of subjects areas – languages, mathematics, science and most importantly our very own Thematic Integrated Curriculum (TIC) and Froebel Education Curriculum where these programmes are shaped based on children’s interest and passion and build on their talents.
● Preschools are the most important phase for a child to develop and grow for both social and academic learning. It is proven that during this period, children pick up new knowledge and skills most effectively.
● We want to ensure our children are prepared before the formal education in school.
● Our teachers would then start on formal academics session at the second half of 4 years old.
Thematic Integrated Curriculum (TIC)
● TIC is one of our key priorities here in Havona, we focus on thematic fun learning approach where we have different themes each month and all activities will be based on the theme.
● We believe it is more than just learning their ABCs or 123s and we encourage building on their soft skills – vital skill sets that are relevant to the world beyond classroom walls!
● From Art & Craft, Ballet, Yoga, Zumba, STEM Class to Sensory Play, our in house activities and platforms are ready for you.
Malaysia Preschool Education & International Curriculum
● Not only we have local syllabus that is recognised by the MOE of Malaysia but Havona also uses International Curriculum teaching materials.
● Our learning materials are mainly the Scholastic books – world’s largest publishing and distributing company.
● We are also focusing on teaching Phoenix English in all our syllabus.
Infrastructure Overview
Green Concept
Havona Preschool is one of the only Green campuses in Johor Bahru and we have almost 1,000 indoor and outdoor plants.
We focus on ensuring a green friendly environment for our children and these plants are used as a learning and playing platforms.
Our teachers will guide them on gardening/ planting and instill the sense of responsibility to our children. When the vegetables are harvested, our kids will bring them back and enjoy them with the parents!
Also, with our green rooftop space, all of our students would spend 30 minutes outdoors, enjoying the company of fresh air, nature and plants every morning before the classes begin.
Classrooms & Facilities Room
At Havona, we have a wide range of facilities to encourage our children to take part in our in house activities and we aim to create the most phenomenal environment!
We have made the best of this spacious building to ensure all spaces are fully utilized and are well functioned.
Outdoor Playground – fun and interactive, uses string anchor ropes for climbing structure – safe and sound!
Open Space – our kids can move around and utilise the open space for reading
Our Safety & Hygiene Standard
Our Security
Havona preschool is installed with 24 hours Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Surveillance and we have a built in centralized sound system throughout the building.
Also, we do have security personnel rotating and staying outside of our building.
Our physical main doors are opened from the inside and unlike other neighborhood schools, we do not have external traffic during pick up and drop off times due to our secured building structure.
Our Hygiene
We see the importance of keeping the best hygiene level in our premises. There are 2 general workers doing cleaning throughout the day and there are premium vacuum cleaners and air purifiers on every floor of the buildings.
Kitchen is an open concept where we could check out the cleanliness of the space and food preparations process in a glance also we do have equipment such as cereal dispensers for the kids, avoiding using the hands. The canteen staff are made compulsory to have the tetanus vaccine.
All the nutritious child- friendly meals are prepared on site and we use only wholesome natural ingredients.
